Net-A-Porter Finds: Accessories & Shoes

One of my favorite sites is net-a-porter.com because of its vast selection of designer clothing, shoes and accessories.  I came across so many unique Spring items while browsing recently... This Alexander McQueen scarf ($260) and color block Marni shoes ($735) are the perfect way to add punch to a simple jeans and t-shirt outfit.  I also love these Miu Miu ($445) heels and Missoni scarf ($260)...Both are timeless pieces and would add a lot of glamor to any look.

Holy Grail Sighting: Reese Witherspoon

I went to go get my hair "did" at Neil George Salon and guess who walked in...Reese Witherspoon!!! I was sooooo excited and I couldn't believe I was in the same room as her for 2.5 hours.  She is so petite and skinny in person and was really sweet to the people working there.  She was getting baliage highlights and left with her hair still wet....What a great sighting!

Best Dressed: 2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Wow! Some of my favorite looks of the night came from ladies who didn't even attend the actual Academy Awards but instead hit up the fabulous Vanity Fair Oscar Party (which was back after a brief hiatus last year).  Debra Messing wore a bejeweled, emerald Jenny Packham gown that perfectly complimented her fiery hair.  The ever captivating Kate Bosworth shimmered in Alexander McQueen Resort 2009.  Lastly, "So You Think You Can Dance" host Cat Deeley rocked a romantic floral number from Matthew Williams Fall 2008 (hey, who cares if its not an '09 gown, she looks stunning)!

Best Dressed: 2009 Academy Awards

Just got finished watching the Academy Awards and I was so impressed.  Too many well dressed women to choose one favorite so here are my top picks: Sarah Jessica Parker in a soft mint Dior Haute Couture gown; Natalie Portman channeling Audrey Hepburn in a pink Rodarte number; Best Actress nominee Anne Hathway in Armani Prive; Best Supporting Actress winner Penelope Cruz in a lace vintage Balmain design ; Best Actress Nominee Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab and fantastic Lorraine Schwartz emerald accessories; Leslie Mann sparkled in Pamela Roland.

I can't believe that now we are going to have to wait a whole year for fashion's most fabulous night!

Best Dressed: 2009 Independent Spirit Awards

Michelle Williams and Mary Kate Olsen both looked sophisticated and chic at the 2009 Spirit Awards in black and white.  Michelle always looks great at awards shows but I really love the pocket detail on her striped dress and the low side chignon.  Mary Kate's outfit is very Chanel-Esque but I think the way she accessorized with lots of bracelets and the nude lace up shoes really makes it young and fun.  Oscar post next!

Fierce: Polished Posh

VB looking oh so glam at the Armani Store opening on 5th Avenue last week.  Everything about this look is great: the shoes are a perfect match, the dark nails add drama, the makeup glows and the longer pixie cut really highlights her features.  Another plus for Posh: the Victoria Beckham dress line that was shown during NY Fashion Week is getting great reviews!

♥ Valentine's in NYC ♥

I just spent the past weekend in New York for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend and had an awesome time!  We went to La Esquina and The Box Friday night, to Tao for dinner on Valentine's Day and then we went shopping and to see "The International" on Sunday!  I picked up this Pink/White Peace Sign Scarf at Scoop NYC in Soho and my bf gave me this Dogeared "past, present and future" necklace that I had been eyeing.... I love it!

Fashion Forward at Diesel in NYC

Diesel's New York Fashion Week show brought out the fashionistas at full force.  Kate Bosworth looked stunning in the Bryant Park tents and Nicole Richie sans baby Harlow was also in attendance.

Lady In Red

Hilary Duff looked so pretty in NYC this past week!  Seriously, her makeup is always flawless and glowing...  Miss Duff was in "The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection" show (pictured left) and was later seen on her way to the DKNY fashion show (pictured right).

My Hello Kitty For Mac Purchases!

Obsessed :) ...I just got back from Nordstroms where I bought stuff from the new Hello Kitty line for Mac Cosmetics!  I ended up getting the lipgloss in Mimmy ($14), the blush in Fun & Games ($18) and one of the eyeshadow quads in the warmer shades ($38).  I might go back for one of the lip conditioners but other than that I am good to go!

Best Dressed: 2009 Grammys

The 2009 Grammys brought out some interesting and somewhat safe looks on Sunday. Carrie Underwood wore a pretty predictable gown but still looked gorgeous with sun-kissed skin and bright blonde hair. Gwyneth rocked the stage in a fun and Grammy appropriate mini which showed off her fab figure while Katy Perry went classy in a Basil Soda gown (love the detail on the bodice). E! News red carpet reporters, Giuliana and Kim, both went the short and flirty route and looked pretty good (although I have to say they both looked better on TV then in photos). Overall, a fairly mediocre night for fashion.

Best Dressed: BAFTA Awards

The British equivalent of the Oscars, aka the BAFTA Awards, brought out some fashionable ladies on Sunday, February 8th.  My picks for best dressed are from clockwise top left: Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionarie) in Oscar de le Renta, Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler) in Etro, Amy Adams (Doubt) in RM by Roland Mouret and Angelina Jolie (The Changeling) in Armani Prive.  Can't wait to see what they all wear to the Oscars on February 22nd!

Klassy Kim

Classy, trendy, fun.... Kim Kardashian looks awesome!  I haven't ever posted about her but I have been loving her style lately!  She has been taking risks and trying out new looks all of which are a major improvement from her old style of too tight tops and dresses.  Btw, she also has a website which she updates almost everyday with fun makeup tips and pics from her fabulous nights out.

Guilty Pleasures

In honor of the ultra girlie Confessions of a Shopaholic book series turned movie I thought it would be fun to post some equally guilty reading pleasures.  Two of my all time favorite easy reads are Plum Sykes' Bergdorf Blondes and her second novel Debutant Divorcee.  Both books incorporate fashion, friends, and drama in a similar way that the Shopaholic series does.

Available on Amazon.

"Dream About It, Together Again..."

Another salon opening, another Rachel Zoe/Nicole Richie reunion! I was so happy to see them together again at the Andy LeCompte Salon opening on Thursday.  Andy's new salon will be selling Nicole's House of Harlow jewlery collection... I absolutely love Ms. Richie's Issa dress, hope I can find it this Spring!

(P.S. Yes, I am referencing the Janet Jackson song in my title, hehe)

When It Rains...I Buy!

The rain this week has made me long for sunshine like no other so I decided to do a little Spring shopping!  I was psyched to find a 20% off code for shopbop.com so I picked up 2 dresses and a bathing suit (for my Vegas trip) and then I scored a pair of Tory Burch flats at plazatoo.com for $75 on sale!

Clockwise from top left: Marc by Marc Jacobs dress ($298), Milly bathing suit ($102 for the top and $102 for the bottoms), Tory Burch Flats ($115 on sale for $75) and Madison Marcus dress ($228).
